Client Success Stories

Liam's Story

Picture
"When we brought our son home from South Korea in 2011, we wanted him to have the absolute best in speech therapy to overcome some language barriers. He had been immersed in Korean for the first 15 months of his life and now that he had come home, he was fully immersed in English. Our little guy was literally "lost in translation!"  Brandy was overwhelmingly recommended to us by many people, and from the first meeting with her, we knew she was the answer to our prayers! She was so tender, compassionate and FUN with Liam, but even more so, she was such a God-send to us as parents! She was a "safe place" for us to talk, seek answers, and problem-solve. She was also more than willing to include Liam's big sister during his sessions, which helped us grow together and bond as a family. She has become like a family member to us, and her depth of knowledge and LOVE for children is amazing! Liam is talking up a storm and is thriving now that he has truly found his voice. We are so thankful for Brandy and the gift she has given our family!"  - Liam's Mom

Kayla's Story

Picture
"Kayla was diagnosed with a bilateral moderate-severe sensorineural hearing loss at 13 months old and was aided with hearing aids at 16 months. We immediately started therapy locally and were informed by numerous people that Kayla would have to learn sign language and this would be her main mode of communication. At this time we ended all therapy locally and began our journey north, taking Kayla to therapy at one of the oral schools for the deaf in St. Louis where she would learn to talk and listen. Kayla began improving, but slowly with a very limited vocabulary. At age 3, thanks to endless praying and looking, God landed us in the path of Brandy.  Immediately Brandy began therapy and we began to see a once very quiet reserved little girl turn into a confident, bright, smart, and vocal little girl. Through Auditory-Verbal Therapy we were able to take part in Kayla's therapy sessions and learn how to better help Kayla at home in between her sessions with Brandy.

She has been successfully mainstreamed into our local school since preschool and continues to do amazing in school despite many obstacles thrown her way. Kayla plays sports and is very active in church and leads a very normal childhood. Unless you actually see Kayla's hearing aids you would not even think she had an impairment and once delayed vocabulary. Her speech is clear and perfect which is amazing considering her hearing loss. We owe all of this to what we have learned through Brandy. Through her hard work, passion, and drive to improve hearing impaired children's lives through auditory-verbal therapy, this has all been made possible. She has not only been Kayla's therapist but has become a friend and like family to us. She has also been an advocate for Kayla, standing beside our family and helping us fight for Kayla's rights in school. Our family could never thank Brandy enough for everything she has done for Kayla." - Kayla's Mom

Dylan's Story

Picture
"Dylan was diagnosed with hearing loss at the age of 2 1/2. We immediately started speech therapy and soon after met Brandy. When Brandy first started seeing Dylan he had just received his hearing aids and could maybe say 10-15 words. After a lot of hard work and persistence, together, we made progress in leaps and bounds. You see, she was not only providing service for Dylan, but for me as well. She was teaching me how to work with Dylan in between visits. Dylan has since graduated from a private school and will begin college in the fall. He does great in school (when he wants to and when he enjoys the subject)!

I know in my heart Brandy was sent to us for a very special reason by none other than the good Lord from above. I truly believe we would not be where we are today without her. She is an amazing person, therapist, and mom. She does an outstanding job, even though I don't think it's really a job to her, it's her natural way of life. She truly cares about each and every one of her kids even after they graduate and no longer require her services. If I ever have any questions or need anything she doesn't hesitate to help out in whatever way she can!"

(Dylan's family chose for him to attend a private school setting where he has was successfully mainstreamed with minimal supports starting in preschool.)

Morgan's Story

Picture
"We were searching for a therapist when Morgan received her bilateral cochlear implants at the age of two.   We wanted to stay as local as possible and it was our goal for Morgan to attend her mainstream school with her peers, starting in preschool.  We were told by some that it was a lofty goal.  But with Brandy's help Morgan not only started with her peers but excels at school making straight A's and is one of the top readers in her grade.  We were recently told by her audiologists that they feel she is doing as well as a child going to a specialized school for the deaf.  We are so very grateful to Brandy for all she has done for Morgan and our family.  She continues to give us all the tools and knowledge we need to help Morgan gain the speech, language, and listening skills see needs in her continued success."  - Morgan's Mom

Allie's Story

Picture
"Allie has received therapy services from Mrs. Brandy Storck since she was two and a half. I don't know how to put into words how much this therapy has done for her. People forget all the time that she has a hearing loss which is a testament to how well she functions with her normal hearing peers. I will be forever grateful for everything that has been done for her. I know it's a hard job but, Brandy - you make it look soooo easy! We love you!" - Allie's Mom

(Allie was diagnosed with a bilateral moderate to severe, sloping to profound, sensorineural hearing loss at the age of two and a half.  Soon thereafter she received her hearing aids and began Auditory-Verbal Therapy, one hour per week, with the family participating in all sessions.  Her family was incredibly committed to making up for lost time and setting Allie on a path to listening and academic success.  Despite starting therapy with no measurable language, within two years of beginning therapy she had closed the gap between her listening age and language age and has been fully mainstreamed, with minimal supports, in her neighborhood school since preschool.)
