Described as one of the most loved components of our regional support services is our Family Networking Group. The families of area-wide children affected by hearing loss have opportunities to connect through planned activity days, facilitated by the families themselves.
Because most of our children are "mainstreamed" into their neighborhood schools, preschools, and homeschooling co-ops such events allow for the children to spend time and build relationships with other kiddos "like them" while the same experience-sharing relationships form amongst the families.
There is no cost involved and the families do not need to receive services from The Emphasis Project to participate. We simply want to be a point of connect for area families walking similar paths knowing that a sense of community is vital in meeting the unique needs and relating the experiences of families affected by hearing loss.
