The Listening Lifeline Of Vital Emphasis (LOVE):

Auditory-Verbal Therapy is a family-centered LIFESTYLE of intentional auditory experiences and ongoing language-rich learning experiences. The family is the expert on the child. The LSLS Cert. AVT is the expert on developing listening and spoken language skills in children who are deaf/hard of hearing. When the two join forces, sharing equal time in the therapy pie, the sky is genuinely the limit. This is not a co-dependent model. We are fully dependent on each other to see the listening and spoken language goals become reality.
Auditory-Verbal Therapy

Brandy Storck, MS CCC-SLP/L, LSLS Cert, AVT is a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and Listening and Spoken Language Specialist, Certified in Auditory-Verbal Therapy, one of only nine in the state of TN. She has been providing hearing impaired specialized services to Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Middle Tennessee since 2002. She provides AVT working through a coaching model within the family unit and in close collaboration with the schools.
Upon completing her graduate training and starting her first job she quickly realized that speech-language pathologists are trained to be jacks of many trades but masters of few. After meeting one family who introduced her to the power and colossal significance of listening and spoken language skills, her eyes were forever opened to that fact that child development is centered around strengths in both skills, from infancy through academia. Everything from speech sound development to math, science, and socials skills is rooted in auditory and language proficiency. She set her professional sights on mastering this "trade" and spent five additional postgraduate years becoming a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist, Certified in Auditory-Verbal Therapy (LSLS Cert. AVT).
She is passionate about empowering families to lead their child in a lifestyle of learning rather than a therapy-driven approach, dependent on an "expert" for success. She recognizes that the family is the greatest resource and expert a child will ever have. When families come to embrace this lifestyle of listening, language, and learning with the support of a highly trained professional coaching them through the process the journey to success is exponentially heightened.
Brandy provides Auditory-Verbal Therapy services to the areas of Central, West, and South Nashville. Monica Wehrer, SLP, Cert. AVT Mentee, provides Auditory-Verbal services to the areas of Central, East, and North Nashville.
